Second Presbyterian Church
Many Journeys, United in Christ
Second Presbyterian Church has a rich history of service to the wider church and community. The Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary first met at Second Presbyterian. Members have helped found agencies of caring such as The Cabbage Patch Settlement House and The Presbyterian Community Center. They have provided leadership and are active participants in mission agencies such as United Crescent Hills Ministries, Bellewood Children’s Home, and The Wayside Christian Mission.
St. Francis in the Fields Episcopal
Mission - Community - Meaning - Identity - Hope
St Francis in the Fields also is deeply involved in the community and wider church. It supports an inner city youth ministry at Cable Baptist Church, a ministry of feeding the homeless in Louisville, a program to educate young people in the David School in Kentucky’s Appalachia region, and church building in San Cristobal and San Rafael in the Dominican Republic.
